I thank each of you who sent me personal messages following the postings of earlier versions of this evolving document. People on seven continents have sent me e-mail about this document. Thanks to AJO at McMurdo Station for sending me a message from Antarctica. I greatly appreciate those patient correspondents who willingly shared their knowledge with me.
I am grateful that I have been able to help many other beginners through publication of this paper and through electronic correspondence. I appreciate the suggestions, questions, and information you have sent me. My efforts in producing this document can be only a small and indirect repayment of the debt I owe to the developers who produce Winsock software and to the many Internet users who are so willing to share their information and expertise.
Please send error reports to me at hmkriz@vt.edu. I am always grateful for suggestions for improvements and additions to this document. Thanks again to everyone who replied to my beginner's questions back in 1993. I am frequently reminded, especially with the release of Windows 95, that in the world of computing I begin again every day. But then what joy to be Always Learning.
--Harry
